What’s new.

Release notes for Tabelaro on macOS.

  1. October 19, 2026
    Latest · Version 0.15.27

    Huge tables, faster.

Big tables open instantly, paging and filters are fixed, and new shortcuts, an update notice and a welcome screen.

    Performance

    • Huge tables (hundreds of thousands of rows with large JSON/TEXT columns) now open instantly without freezing the app.
    • Large cell values load as previews; the full value loads when you open the cell.
    • Faster paging through big tables, and faster, non-blocking row counts.
    • Loads and counts are cancelled when you navigate away.

    Data grid

    • Pagination and “Load more as I scroll” fixed: correct totals, no missing or duplicate rows, and row numbering continues across pages.
    • Filters and search now apply to the whole table, not just the loaded page (press Enter to apply).
    • Shift+click selects a range of rows.
    • Cmd/Ctrl+C copies the selected rows.
    • New setting to choose the default copy format (Settings → Editor & data).
    • “Copy as…” (Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+C) now works every time, with SQL, JSON, Markdown, TSV and CSV.
    • Exporting a table’s rows now includes full values and the active filter.

    Connections

    • Closing one connection no longer closes the others.
    • The connection switcher always shows the correct active connection.
    • New shortcuts to switch connections: ⌘⌥←/→ on macOS, Ctrl+PageUp/PageDown on Windows/Linux. The hint shows next to the connection name.

    Updates

    • When a new version is available, Tabelaro now shows a notice on launch with a link to the changelog, and Install or Later buttons.

    UI

    • New welcome screen with the main keyboard shortcuts and a “Show on startup” option.
    • Loading indicators when tables open, queries run, pages load and changes save.
    • The collapsed sidebar shows the Tabelaro logo, which turns into the expand button on hover.
    • Clearer selected color in the New Connection screen.
    • The Links tab shows only the current table’s relations.
    • Composite foreign keys now show correctly in the Links tab on PostgreSQL.
    • “Choose a database” and “Browse the database” now focus the search box when they open.
    • Wax changes show up immediately after you add or delete.
    • The wax delete button no longer turns transparent on hover.

    Behavior changes

    • On macOS, row selection uses ⌘+click. Ctrl+click no longer toggles rows.
    • Grid cells are no longer selectable with the mouse. Editing a cell still works.
    • TSV and CSV copy and paste now quotes fields that contain tabs or newlines.
    • On PostgreSQL, JSON cells show the value in the database’s own format.
    • On very large tables, the row count may show as an estimate or “unknown” instead of an exact number.

    Version 0.15.18

Database picker, in-app SSH & security.

A new database picker, a rebuilt in-process SSH tunnel, editor and paging fixes, and a broad security and privacy pass.

    What’s new in 0.15.18

    • Query editor: multi-line editing. Enter adds a new line, and ⌘/Ctrl+Enter runs the query without adding a newline.
    • Result paging beyond 1000 rows is fixed.
    • Epoch timestamp cells show a readable local and UTC time.
    • MySQL: fixed “no database selected” on servers with multiple databases.
    • New database picker: choose a database when you connect, and switch anytime from the sidebar (searchable).
    • SSH rebuilt in-process: no external ssh or sshpass, and credentials never leave the app. Host keys are strictly verified, and you confirm the fingerprint for new hosts. Includes keepalive and reconnect.
    • Security & privacy: fonts are bundled locally (no Google Fonts), a Content Security Policy, Keychain-only secrets in release builds, and safer TLS defaults with a visible encryption state. CSV/TSV exports are guarded against formulas, and secrets are fetched only when you click Show.
    • Clipboard: copied secrets auto-clear after 30 seconds (configurable), and newer clipboard content is never wiped.
    • Query tabs and history are stored encrypted in the app data folder. Result values are never saved, and you can clear or disable history.
    • New app identifier (com.tabelaro.desktop), with automatic migration of saved connections.
